Melissa is passionate about Canada’s public and business sectors. Whether it is as an internal agent or external advisor, Melissa has 17 years of experience collaborating with peers and stakeholders to deliver initiatives in the areas of strategic planning, performance measurement, program evaluation, program delivery, internal audit, and enterprise risk management. Melissa spent 15 years as a management consultant with EY before jumping head first into the world of the Canadian cannabis industry, maneuvering changing cannabis regulations and overseeing capital market compliance. Melissa has worked with companies, not-for-profits, and public sector organizations to create policy, tackle initiatives and solve problems related to international development, transportation, infrastructure, community engagement, social development, natural resource regulation, economic development, foreign investment, financial services, retail and consumer products, and governance at the federal, provincial and municipal levels. Melissa currently oversees Aurora’s Enterprise Risk and Assurance team, and is responsible for internal audit, risk management, SOX compliance, and corporate insurance.
